This workshop was organised by CANRI and AURISA

This workshop provided updates on the use of new open standards technology in the NSW State Government's Community Access to Natural Resources Information (CANRI) program, as well as information on OpenGIS-compliant products on offer from major GIS software vendors.

Presenting were:

• Jonathan Doig, CANRI Program Director
• Rob Atkinson from Social Change Online, participant from the recent OpenGIS Web Services testbed, which developed new technologies and demonstrated their potential to assist in responding to disasters such as New York City September 11.
• Maurits van der Vlugt from Sinclair Knight Merz, OpenGIS participant and facilitator.

The workshop attracted over 30 participants. Their evaluation of the workshop can be found here.

The purpose was to provide a technical update of OpenGIS developments and their deployment in CANRI.
