CANRI Projects 2001-2002

Go to:       [Project Plan Summaries]       [Expression of Interest Summaries]

The CANRI program had a very busy and productive year in 2001/2002. Funding of $982,000 was allocated to 30 projects. Of these projects, 23 are now complete, 4 were deferred to next financial year and 3 were still undergoing final refinements before publication. Majority of these projects are able to provide direct information access to the community and/or government agencies. All projects received in-kind contributions towards the development and implementation of these projects from their respective agencies.

The projects covered all six themes addressed in the CANRI business case. All datasets made available over this past year were a priority for one or more agencies and programs, or ready for Internet access, and involved no additional cost to CANRI.

Outputs from these projects include website access to a range of natural resource information, improved performance (via infrastructure enhancements), data enhancements and development of a simple generic user interface builder for future CANRI applications.

A project Expo was held at Australian Technology Park  - Redfern on 23 October 2002, to demonstrate to the program Board and other stakeholders the outcome(s) of this year's projects. The venue was a fitting setting for this event.

The table below presents a summary of the status and outcome of each project with links to project completion or progress reports.

Thanks again to all participants and supporters of the program for a very successful and productive year!
