2 Short name or acronymRAMS Far West3 AbstractThe CANRI RAMS Far West builds on the multiagency Resource Assessment & Monitoring System (RAMS) Far West long term monitoring program. This collaborative program has been using satellite imagery to monitor and map the clearing and cropping activities, annually, within the NSW Western Division at a paddock scale since the early 1980s. The CANRI Far West project will correct GIS topological and misclassification errors in this extensive database, patch a number of temporal gaps, and delivery of a generalised set of grids to the public domain through the CANRI webmapping structure. 7 Project definition7.1 Project description and objectives In general, the project will validate the existing RAMS database to facilitate achieving data quality and reliability appropriate for dissemination to the public. The project will identify errors in the RAMS database and either make immediate amendments or flag the error for attention of the RAMS Project Officer. 7.2 Inclusions and exclusions The CANRI project includes data triage on the entire current RAMS database. The CANRI project does not produce additional data (except where there are existing gaps). 7.3 Related initiatives and interdependencies RAMS Far West Program … CANRI project will value add to information from RAMS Far West 7.4 Technological environment The project uses existing image processing and GIS technologies.
