CANRI Projects 2003-2004

The final year of the program concluded with the implementation of 30 projects approved by the CANRI Board. The suite of projects encompassed the major themes (Systems, Quality & Standards, Products & Services, Communications, Coordination, Data) addressed in CANRI's business case. The majority of project outcomes are now available through the NSW Natural Resource Atlas web portal, demonstrated to the Board and other stakeholders at the Project Expo on 24 September 2004.

The table below summarises the status and outcomes of 2003-2004 projects.

22 Complete RAMS Far West remediation A continuation of the 02/03 CANRI project, RAMS FarWest. Appraise the RAMS database’s overall integrity and reliability, correct GIS topological and misclassification errors in this extensive database, patch a number of temporal gaps, and deliver a set of a generalised grids to the public domain through the CANRI webmapping structure. 4041 Vertebrate pest and weed infestation data Vertebrate pest infestation data (including rabbits, pigs, wild dogs and goats) from surveys in 1997 and 2002 will be compiled, edited and provided to CANRI for web serving.  DPI 14 Complete

13 CANRI Site Redesign 02-03 Architecture, Catalogue, Open Apps and Usability projects were amalgamated to Site Redesign. The CANRI Site Redesign Project will redesign and rebuild the CANRI website to enable easier end-user access to the CANRI information resources, and effectively make the website a true online portal CANRI 29 Complete
14 Standards Extend the CANRI DIY Manual with a collection of documentation on the standards used in CANRI. These include OpenGIS standards, but also metadata standards, guidelines for web mapping and some data models. CANRI 17  
15 Data loading & training for agencies The Technical Support Officer will provide assistance to CANRI agencies with 1) Getting core and priority datasets served via the CANRI Framework, and 2) Providing technical training to the agencies involved. CANRI 107 Complete.

37 MET Online network trouble-shooting Define and document the Internet environment required within NRIMS agencies to enable data custodians to enter and edit NRDD metadata using MET Online. CANRI 27 Complete
