Title: Ocean Nutrient Study - Transect data
Custodian: Environment Protection Authority NSW
Jurisdiction: New South Wales
CTD, ( Conductivity, Temperature and Depth), data and nutrient samples collected along transect lines from, the shore to the continental Shelf at locations off Port Stephens, Port Hacking and Jervis Bay. Data to be used for an Ocean Nutrient study to better understand oceanic and anthropogenic nutrient fluxes in the coastal waters and the associated algal response. Data collected at profiling stations along transects and optimised to resolve physical features such as the thermocline, coastal boundary layer and topographic intrusions.

Geographic bounding box:
The bounding box encloses the maximum extents of the dataset. There may be voids or gaps within the bounding box, depending on the defined coverage of the dataset. Outer bounding rectangle as Latitude/Longitude coordinates based on the WGS84 datum (expressed as both Degrees Minutes Seconds and as decimal Degrees):
- North bounding latitude: 29 00 00.0 S (-29)
- South bounding latitude: 53 00 00.0 S (-53)
- East bounding longitude: 175 00 00.0 E (175)
- West bounding longitude: 147 00 00.0 E (147)
Lineage:
Data collected from small vessels using profiling instrumentation and water sample bottles. Nutrients filtered and analysed from dissolved components. Data processed and spatially interpolated to produce contoured data. Data arrived on optical disk.
Positional accuracy:
GPS positioning +/- 100m accuracy
Attribute accuracy:
Temperature +/- 0.01degreesC, Salinity +/- 0.01 psu, Nutrient Data 5-10%
Logical consistency:
Field blanks, duplicates, calibration of electronic equipment and inter-laboratory comparisons. .
