Title: Groundwater Bore Data
Custodian: Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources (DIPNR)
Jurisdiction: New South Wales
The Bore Core Database maintains the construction details of all licensed bores in New South Wales. Data includes borehole logs, name of major lithology, colour, form, grainsize, borehole geometry, pump test results, use, construction and casing details. It also includes depth to groundwater, aquifer depth and artesian flow (as found, intermediate and as left). Information is captured via a form completed by the licensed driller at the completion of construction. Data from approximately 93000 bores are included in the database. There are some 93900 bores in total.

- Geographic extent name:
- NEW SOUTH WALES - State or Territory - New South Wales
- Geographic extent polygon:
- 141 -37.5, 154 -37.5, 154 -28, 141 -28, 141 -37.5
Note: The format for each Geographic extent name is: Name - Identifier - Category - Jurisdiction (as appropriate)
Geographic bounding box:
The bounding box encloses the maximum extents of the dataset. There may be voids or gaps within the bounding box, depending on the defined coverage of the dataset. Outer bounding rectangle as Latitude/Longitude coordinates based on the WGS84 datum (expressed as both Degrees Minutes Seconds and as decimal Degrees):
- North bounding latitude: 28 00 00.0 S (-28)
- South bounding latitude: 37 30 00.0 S (-37.5)
- East bounding longitude: 154 00 00.0 E (154)
- West bounding longitude: 141 00 00.0 E (141)
Lineage:
Data source collected from historical records. New data is entered from a bore completion form provided by the licensed driller.
Positional accuracy:
Low-moderate accuracy unless data point has been surveyed.
Attribute accuracy:
High with respect to construction details of the bore.
Logical consistency:
Not known for private low yielding bores. Logical consistency is known for monitoring and high yielding/metered bores.
Completeness:
Coverage: 90 percent of known records (licensed).
