- HUMAN ENVIRONMENT
- LAND Geography Maps
- TRANSPORTATION Land
- Geographic extent name:
- NEW SOUTH WALES - State or Territory - New South Wales
- Geographic extent polygon:
- 141 -37.5, 154 -37.5, 154 -28, 141 -28, 141 -37.5
Note: The format for each Geographic extent name is: Name - Identifier - Category - Jurisdiction (as appropriate)
Geographic bounding box:
The bounding box encloses the maximum extents of the dataset. There may be voids or gaps within the bounding box, depending on the defined coverage of the dataset. Outer bounding rectangle as Latitude/Longitude coordinates based on the WGS84 datum (expressed as both Degrees Minutes Seconds and as decimal Degrees):
- North bounding latitude: 28 00 00.0 S (-28)
- South bounding latitude: 37 30 00.0 S (-37.5)
- East bounding longitude: 154 00 00.0 E (154)
- West bounding longitude: 141 00 00.0 E (141)
Lineage:
Captured in Genamap vs.6.1 by integrating existing data from the New South Wales DTDB and data sourced from other existing directories and maps. Specific services were enhanced through liaison with appropriate authorities. Data was imported into Microstation software using the GEN2PEN reformatter where it was subject to post migration editing. Hard copy plots were generated for examination and Quality Assurance processes. Data was subsequently amended where necessary. Final data sets were migrated back to Genamap and Macintosh environments.
Positional accuracy:
90% of well defined points in the source mapping are within 0.5mm of their true position at map scale.
Accuracy ranges from 26.4 to < 46.2 metres for 1:100000 origin data to 1.0 to < 2.0 metres for 1:4000 origin data.
Attribute accuracy:
Attributes assigned to this data were sourced from existing data sets and in some instances verified through liaison with the appropriate authority.
Logical consistency:
The digital data was visually checked against existing maps and directories used in its compilation. A topological consistency verification was performed as a component of the quality assurance process using Genamap software.
Completeness:
The data set is complete insofar as the source data allowed and the verification process used provided. Although data thresholding is not used, data is only as complete as the intended scales of display permit.
