Title: NEW SOUTH WALES DTDB LANDFORM THEME 50K DIGITAL TERRAIN MODELS
Custodian: Department of Information Technology and Management (LPI)
Jurisdiction: New South Wales
There are 495 Digital Topographic Database Landform DTM spatial partitions covering New South Wales. The partitions are 50 kilometers square and align to the AMG zone coverage of NSW. This theme contains Digital Terrain Models created from existing 10 metre and 20 metre contours sourced from the NSW Topographic Map Archive. The Data Base contains raster height data in 25 metre pixels for the Eastern and Central Divisions of the State. The Sydney Basin is supplemented by the integration of 2 metre contour data.

- Geographic extent name:
- NEW SOUTH WALES - State or Territory - New South Wales
- Geographic extent polygon:
- 141 -37.5, 154 -37.5, 154 -28, 141 -28, 141 -37.5
Note: The format for each Geographic extent name is: Name - Identifier - Category - Jurisdiction (as appropriate)
Geographic bounding box:
The bounding box encloses the maximum extents of the dataset. There may be voids or gaps within the bounding box, depending on the defined coverage of the dataset. Outer bounding rectangle as Latitude/Longitude coordinates based on the WGS84 datum (expressed as both Degrees Minutes Seconds and as decimal Degrees):
- North bounding latitude: 28 00 00.0 S (-28)
- South bounding latitude: 37 30 00.0 S (-37.5)
- East bounding longitude: 154 00 00.0 E (154)
- West bounding longitude: 141 00 00.0 E (141)
Lineage:
Topographic 3 dimensional 25 metre grid data derived from contour and drainage data sourced from the New South Wales Topographic Map Archive (pre 1995). Predominantly 10 metre and 20 metre contours used as source data. Sydney basin data was supplemented by integrating 2 metre contours as a 3 dimentional 5 metre grid where they were available.
Positional accuracy:
Initial digital contour collection is within 0.3mm of map transparencies at scales of 1:25000, 1:50000 and 1:100000. Vertical accuracy of a DTM is to within 0.5 of the source document contour interval.
Attribute accuracy:
NA.
Logical consistency:
Data partitions are edge matched to adjoining partitions where applicable.
Completeness:
Current data availability is restricted to coverage of Eastern and Central zones of New South Wales. As data update proceeds into the Western zone, overall coverage will increase.
