Title: NEW SOUTH WALES DTDB LANDFORM THEME MEDIUM SCALE CONTOURS
Custodian: Department of Information Technology and Management (LPI)
Jurisdiction: New South Wales
There are 1105 digital Landform Theme Medium Scale Contour spatial data partitions covering the area of New South Wales. This theme contains contours and spot heights from the NSW Topographic Archive. The partitions correspond to 1:25000, 1:50000 and 1:100000 mapping areas represented on the Australian National Map Sheet Breakdown System. Of these 982 are complete.

- Geographic extent name:
- NEW SOUTH WALES - State or Territory - New South Wales
- Geographic extent polygon:
- 141 -37.5, 154 -37.5, 154 -28, 141 -28, 141 -37.5
Note: The format for each Geographic extent name is: Name - Identifier - Category - Jurisdiction (as appropriate)
Geographic bounding box:
The bounding box encloses the maximum extents of the dataset. There may be voids or gaps within the bounding box, depending on the defined coverage of the dataset. Outer bounding rectangle as Latitude/Longitude coordinates based on the WGS84 datum (expressed as both Degrees Minutes Seconds and as decimal Degrees):
- North bounding latitude: 28 00 00.0 S (-28)
- South bounding latitude: 37 30 00.0 S (-37.5)
- East bounding longitude: 154 00 00.0 E (154)
- West bounding longitude: 141 00 00.0 E (141)
Lineage:
Contours captured from photogrammetric compilations prepared from Aerial Photography, Triangulated and Cartographicaly Enhanced by the Land Information Centre. Scanned and vectorised on Optigraphics 3100 to ODF file for editing using MEWS software then translated to a Genamap Import file for final editing and current storage in Genamap vs.6.2P.
Positional accuracy:
Digital collection is within 0.3 mm of map transparencies.
HORIZONTAL ACCURACY - Ten percent of well defined points tested will not be in error by more than 0.5mm of scale of source document.
VERTICAL ACCURACY - Not more than ten percent of well defined points tested are in error by more than one half of contour interval.
Attribute accuracy:
Currently not applicable.
Logical consistency:
All features are labelled.
Lines intersect at nodes.
Some lines do unintentionally cross.
All lines exist.
All duplications are eliminated.
Lines do not overshoot or undershoot.
All features are labelled.
There are no polygons existing.
Data partitions are edge matched against adjoining partitions where applicable.
Completeness:
Spatial data is complete for the Eastern and Central zones of NSW. Data for the Western zone is being captured as data update proceeds.
There is no attribute data available for the data set.
There are no data thresholds used.
