Abstract:

This state file (digital) has been created in Genamap depicting the external boundaries of each claim area as submitted by the National Native Title Tribunal. This file is used to create the boundary map for the production of each claim map and is used to create a state index map. The index map is used as a reference document by the Tribunal. It is in two forms a) one sheet map and b) 4 quadrant maps being enlargements from the state map.The status of each claim is displayed on this file, being either Unregistered, Registered or Determination.

Data quality

Lineage:

Information regarding the details of the external boundaries of each claim area has been supplied by the National Native Title Tribunal. The boundaries have been captured against the DCDB and various state files held within Surveyor General's Department.

Positional accuracy:

Horizontal accuracy - Ten percent of well defined points tested will not be in error by more than 0.5mm of scale of source document.

Attribute accuracy:

All DCDB data linkages within Genamap/Oracle environment are subject to automatic verification, ensuring 100% data integrity.

Logical consistency:

All points are labelled.

All lines intersect at nodes.

Lines do not cross intentionally.

There are no duplicate lines.

Lines do not overshoot or undershoot.

Completeness:

Spatial data is complete for this state map as supplied by the NNTT as of 12 Mar 1999. Details relating to individual claim boundaries are held on archive tape 988a located inITM&S.
